Please make sure that you check back here on a regular basis. Information about fundraisers, upcoming events and Parent Volunteer needs will be communicated this way.

Summer Volunteer Opportunities:

We have several summer volunteer opportunities for anyone that is interested in assisting the band. SME Snacks: if you’d like to volunteer to provide cold snacks for the band during a day of SME, contact me and I will give you a choice of dates. We are in need of some authoritative parents that are willing to be lunch room monitors during SME, so that the staff may take a much needed break from the students. We need picnic helpers and grillers for the July 12 band picnic. We will need many parents to assist with the annual Midnight Madness Pancake Breakfast August 28. If you are interested in any of these opportunities please email me at dwhite@bssd.net.

REVTRAK Online Payments

You can now make payments online at bluesprings.revtrak.net. On the first page you will click on "Band Fees & Trips" then you can choose whether you want to pay the $175 Band Participation fee, or if you’d like to make a trip payment, click on "Tournament of Roses Parade-2009 Trip Scholarship Donation Confirmation & Payment." Then simply follow the instructions. It’s that easy! You cannot check a student’s trip account via REVTRAK, you can only make payments.

Fundraisers and Trip Accounts! Are you curious as to how much money your student earned with the fundraisers? Simply email Debbie White at dwhite@bssd.net and she can give you a total ASAP. Also, if you have trip payment questions, feel free to email Debbie with those also.

• It is a good idea to mail any form or payment that has a deadline. All registration forms, trip forms, parent volunteer forms, phone directory forms or any money that might be due with the above forms may be mailed to the following address:

Summer Band Activities

The month of June will be busy with several camps: drum major, percussion, and color guard. We will be sending out the first summer mailing in early June. Be sure that we have your correct address on file.

July is when all of the fun begins. First year members will report to SME July 9-10. The annual Band Picnic/Pool Party is Sunday, July 12. The FULL band will report to SME July 13-17, July 20-24, and Aug. 3-7.

Parent Volunteers!

We would like to express our gratitude to the dozens of parents that assisted the band throughout the season in so many ways. All of your help means so much to the staff and students. "Thank You!"

GR Band Festival - Oct. 3

The Golden Regiment band festival is in the distant future, so mark your calendar now for Saturday Oct. 3, so that you don’t forget. Lisa Carter has graciously agreed to be our Festival Chairperson again this year, so if you have any Festival questions, you may reach her at lisa980@swbell.net. We literally need hundreds of volunteers that day.

Other Information – If you're not receiving ANY mail from the band, you should probably verify your address with Debbie White or a band staff person as this keeps you from getting very important information. We do not mail a lot of correspondence, but when we do you can be sure it is important.
