2002 - "From the Earth to the Moon"

"I believe this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the earth."

- President John F. Kennedy

The 2002 Marching Band show From the Earth to the Moon was inspired by the men and women of the United States who, through their vision, perseverance, hard work, many sacrifices and unity of purpose, resulted in the achievement of the impossible: being the first nation to successfully take mankind to the moon and back.

The show began with the band in sequential arcs in the lower left corner of the field representing the curvature of the earth.  The Drumline was scattered, representing the stars.  The Color Guard was in a solid straight line on the 50 yard line representing the barriers between us and the moon.

Repertoire:

  • Twelve Seconds to the Moon - Smith
  • Theme from Apollo 13
  • Master Alarm - Apollo 13
  • The Eagle Has Landed – Original Music
